Jigen

Our Jigen is a drop hat made from a very light and airy weave of hemp fiber, a plant under close debate that grows naturally in temperate climate zones of our Planet. Such weaving is absolutely bio-compatible and environmentally sustainable in that hemp cultivation can be repeated countless times on the same field without impoverishing it; on the contrary, it reclaims and softens the very structure of the soil.

This is a particularly elastic and durable material that allows the hat not to crease and to be handled without special care and attention. It is not recommended, however, to keep it rolled for an extended period of time, as it may lose its distinctive shape as well as some tenor on the wing. This weave is not bleached before the dye is applied, which gives the dye itself a natural, enveloping tone.

Jigen's workmanship is very unique and has a strong artisan connotation. Skeins of woven strips of hemp are sewn together by placing them next to each other, starting from the top and forming round after round the typical rough hat shape. Afterwards, the raw semifinished product is processed with only the help of water vapor and heat, pulling it by hand on wooden forms so that it takes the desired shape.

Our Jigen comes in a natural wheat beige color with a grosgrain belt with a very distinctive bauxite red bow. The shape is the classic Doria shape with a "Drop" head and medium wing.

For any returned product you can request a free refund or replacement for any reason. You can return purchased merchandise by shipping it back at your expense within 14 days of receipt.

Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer while, if a size change or product exchange is required, return shipping will be free of charge.
