The Droplet hat Droplet a Drop model Drop from precious Panama Brisa, a special weave formed from simple straw threads that give the garment its lightness. These characteristics give the product a particular freshness and a truly attractive quality/price ratio. Our Salento artisans work the unshaped semi-finished product from Ecuador with the help of steam and heat, pulling it by hand onto special wooden molds. Thanks to this process, the material takes on the desired shape of the crown and brim.
The material from which the famous Panama is made follows several processing steps: it is a weaving of strands of "paja-toquilla," a straw made from the leaves of Carludovica palmata, a plant native to Central and South America. The craftsmanship of these straw strands is done entirely by hand and is an important part of Ecuador's cultural heritage; in fact, these ancient production techniques have been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.Depending on the type and degree of weaving imparted to the straw, Panama takes on different names and qualities, suffice it to say that the finest ones can involve up to 8 months of manual labor by local artisans.
Our Droplet a Drop hat and represents the final result of this artisanal process: we offer it in olive green, finished with a lavender purple grosgrain ribbon and the Doria logo in gold-plated brass.

For any returned product you can request a free refund or replacement for any reason. You can return purchased merchandise by shipping it back at your expense within 14 days of receipt.
Returns are easy and always free: simply repack the product in the package you received, send an email to shop@doria1905.com, and wait for the label to display on the package.
