The material from which the famous Panama is made follows several processing steps: it is a weaving of strands of "paja-toquilla," a straw made from the leaves of Carludovica palmata, a plant native to Central and South America. The craftsmanship of these straw strands is done entirely by hand and is an important part of Ecuador's cultural heritage; in fact, these ancient production techniques have been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Depending on the type and degree of weaving given to the straw, the Panama takes on different denominations and qualities, suffice it to say that the finer ones can involve up to 8 months of manual labor by local artisans.
The hat, now formed, is handled especially gently throughout the process so that it retains the traditional and unmistakable elasticity of panama fibers.
Our Vittorio small-wing hat, developed in a wraparound navy blue color is the end result of this process. It is finally packaged with a grosgrain belt in storm gray and the Doria logo in golden brass.

Scheduled delivery:
- 2-4 working days for delivery within Italy.
- 3-7 working days for delivery within Europe.
- 5-10 working days for deliveries Extra Europe.
For any returned product you can request a free refund or replacement for any reason. You can return purchased merchandise by shipping it back at your expense within 14 days of receipt.
Return is easy and always free of charge: you only need to repack the product in the package you received, send an email to [email protected] and wait for the label to be displayed on top of the package.
