Our Azulina turns out to be a simple but refined-looking hat, a great accessory for protection from the sun and endowed with excellent lightness. Its shape is called a "cloche," and was invented in 1908 in Paris by milliner Caroline Reboux in her atelier, becoming an iconic item worn by the most fashionable women of the time. Azulina is made of a precious Blicciado-colored Panama Brisa with the Negroamaro cinta, a red grape variety typical of the Salento lands.
It is worked with the sole aid of water vapor and heat, pulling it by hand over wooden molds to keep it light. The sash is a simple and refined grosgrain, decorated by the gold D on the back bow.
