Mathias

The Mathias is the result of continuous experimentation. The starting point is the classic eight-segment Irish Cap, from which, however, certain details are exaggerated in the proportions including the back band, so that it wraps around the nape of the neck, and the front visor, almost reminiscent of a baseball.

This cap is made of denim. This fabric is historically composed of cotton in the color blue, and is the historical material from which the pants of early 20th century dockworkers were made. It is a sargia and has a diagonal weave, which is why it is a particularly sturdy fabric suitable for workwear. It is named after the city of Nîmes in France and was once called "serge de Nîmes." In fact, "denim" is derived from "de Nimes."

The denim of this cap is very distinctive, in fact, in addition to traditional processing it makes use of varied and overlapping dyeing techniques of Japanese origin. This is precisely where its deep indigo color and precious appearance comes from. Mathias is an American-style cap, dedicated to those who do not like to be conformist and who like to experiment.
