Description
The Jigen is a Drop hat made from hemp straw, a plant that is the subject of intense debate and grows naturally in temperate climates. This is a particularly elastic and resistant material, so the hat is not subject to creasing and can be handled without special care and attention. Organic and environmentally sustainable, hemp cultivation can be repeated countless times on the same field, reclaiming and softening the very structure of the soil.
The Jigen hat has a medium brim and comes in a neutral toast beige colour, with a grosgrain band enriched by a very unusual fern-green bow. The workmanship of this hat is very special and has a strong artisanal connotation: the skeins of hemp are sewn together to form, lap after lap, the classic hat shape.
The resulting raw chapel is processed with the aid of steam and heat, pulling it by hand onto wooden forms so that it takes on the desired shape. Finally, it is dried in natural air.
