Description
The Mathias is the result of continuous experimentation. The starting point is the classic eight-segment Irish Cap, from which, however, the proportions have been exaggerated in certain details such as the back strap, so that it wraps around the nape of the neck, and the front visor, almost reminiscent of a baseball cap.
This cap is made of denim. This fabric is historically made of cotton in the colour blue, and is the historical material used to make the trousers of dock workers at the beginning of the century. It is a sargia and has a diagonal weave, which is why it is a particularly robust fabric suitable for workwear. It takes its name from the city of Nîmes in France and was once called "serge de Nîmes". From "de Nimes" comes "denim".
The denim of this cap is very special. In addition to the traditional processing, it uses a variety of overlapping dyeing techniques of Japanese origin. Hence its deep indigo colour and precious appearance. Mathias is an American-style cap for those who do not like to be conformist and who like to experiment.
